
Maria Stamenkovic Herranz
Dancer
Maria Stamenkovic Herranz graduated at the Rambert School for Contemporary and Ballet dance in London. She has worked with various visual artists, coreographers and theater directors, as Jonhannes Birringer, Lynn Lukas, Spencer Tunick, Stephanie Thiersch, Martin Butler and etc. She participated in many collaborations as a dancer and creator discussing the theoretical and practical fields of media, technology and further developments of electronical systems for dance or theater. That’s where she started doing her own visual and stage works and is currently working on a new creation of her own due to premiere in Belgium.
Based at the moment in between Barcelona and Antwerp she started working in 2003 with the spanish choreographer Sol Picó at the National Catalan Theater of Barcelona and toured with the piece called La Donna Manca which has received a Max award for best female performers of the year in Spain 2004. She’s been working with Jan Fabre and has performed in Tannhauser, The Crying Body, Je Suis Sang and History of Tears. In 2006 performed in the MOUVOIR-production Beautiful Me.
